Today we begin a journey into uncharted territory.  I will be available each

day between 8am and 1pm.  You may contact me by email any time at nconner@ecud7.org.  I will be using the teacher messenger system (email) as well as this wix website to communicate to you.
 

Today we will spend some time learning about what a virus is and what the CDC recommendations are.

My plan is to cover chapter 5 "Natural Selection and Change Over Time" starting on page 234 of the text. If necessary, we will also cover chapter 6, "History of the Earth" starting on page 298.

 

Students will need their text that was issued, but can log on to "Clever" to access Pearson online.  The text is available there as well as any supplemental online activities that I want to encourage all to try.

 

I will be assigning reading section by section with the "lesson check" at the end of each section.  Students will need to read each section and complete the questions that are embedded in the reading plus complete the "lesson check" at the end of each section.  I will not be collecting any work until we return to our regular schedule.  The lesson checks will be required work.

 

How do students sign on to "Clever"?  There is a "Clever" link on the district's home page under the "students" at the top of the page.  Students can also go directly to clever.com to log in.  The log in prompt requires students to type: "district\your school computer login" in the user name and "your school computer password" in the password line.

Once into clever, click on "Pearson Easy Bridge".  Then click on "Pearson Realize".

Then click on the green "Elevate Course 3".  From there you can navigate through "topic 5" by clicking on it.  Feel free to check out the activities there.  These will not be required.

Read lesson 1 of Topic 5, "Early Study of Evolution" starting on page 238.  Complete the embedded questions in the reading.  If you do not have your book, log on using "Clever" to complete the reading.  Directions for logging into Pearson through the Clever portal are explained above.

Thursday 3/19/20

Complete lesson 1 check on page 247 in your text.  If you do not have your text, complete the lesson 1 check on a separate piece of paper.

Friday 3/20/20

Read lesson 2 of topic 5, "Natural Selection" starting on page 248.  Complete the embedded questions in the reading.
