The 2.2 guided reading is due.

We will have another packet over controlling reactions.  There is a one page reading selection and 22 questions over the reading.  Your text is not necessary, but certainly would come in handy.  Sorry, I do not have a pdf file for this.

UPDATE:  I have a meeting during 6th and 7th period tomorrow.  So that means these two hours will complete the "Burning a Candle" activity today and get the above packet for homework tomorrow.  The Candle Activity page will be due tomorrow.  Here is the lab page.

Wednesday 11/20/19

​

2nd, 3rd, and 4th have the "Controlling Reactions" packet due.  We will quickly check this then complete the "Burning a Candle" activity.  This lab page will be due on Thursday.

6th and 7th will turn in the "Burning a Candle" lab page then complete the "Controlling Reactions" packet for homework.  This will be due on Thursday.  I am sorry but I do not have a pdf for this.

Thursday 11/21/19

We will complete the Liver Catalase Enzyme lab.  The lab page will be due on Friday with a quiz over this specific lab.  If you miss the lab today, you must make it up on Friday.  Liver is perishable!

Friday 11/21/19

Your Liver lab page will be due.  If you missed the lab it needs to be made up pronto.  The liver will be rotten by Monday!

We will have a 5 point, multiple choice quiz over the lab.

I hope you remembered to bring your comp book today!  I am doing a demo.  It's been a long time and I think we need a Friday diversion.

 

Candle in a Tube Demo 

On a fresh clean page in your comp book answer the following:

​

1.  Observe the burning candle and describe it. Note the color and movement of 

     of the flame.

​

2.  Describe what happens to the flame when the clear plastic tube is placed over

     the burning candle.  What might be a possible explanation for this?

​

3.  Describe what happens when the tube with the T-shaped insert is placed over 

     the candle. Note the color and movement of the flame.  What might be a 

     possible explanation for this?

​
